The Southern California Food Allergy Institute, spearheaded by Dr. Inderpal Randhawa, a leading specialist in internal medicine, pediatrics, immunology, allergy and pulmonology, specializes in treating a multitude of potentially life-threatening food and environmental allergies. To guide a patient’s unique and highly specialized treatment plan for anaphylaxis therapy, it is critical to ensure access to the full panel of diagnostic data that is required to develop a patient’s individualized treatment plan in an accurate and timely manner. Due to the esoteric nature of all requested allergy tests necessary in this specialized treatment, these laboratory tests cannot be performed or are not available at most major national laboratories due to the proprietary nature of the test as well as the availability of these specialized tests on their test menu. There are no other laboratories that are capable of doing these tests in their entirety. Due to this limitation, the inception of TPIRC Diagnostics was created in order to bridge the gaps between allergy test availability, turnaround time of those results, as well as offering a diverse array of other diagnostic options such as pediatric pulmonology.
History
TPIRC Diagnostics Bio
TPIRC Diagnostics was founded specifically for the diagnosis of food and environmental allergies, treatment of various allergy symptoms, and assessment of response to therapeutic interventions. TPIRC Diagnostics is the only allergy and pediatric pulmonology diagnostic lab in the nation. It is a draw center, sample processing center, and lab testing center for esoteric testing involving allergens as a whole, as well as specific allergen components. The data acquired drives patient care and treatment is catered specifically for each individual based on their blood work. TPIRC Diagnostics operates with a distinct concept of prioritizing patient care and experience which entails reducing patient draw visits to 1, the amount of optimal blood to 50% of national reference labs, and a turnaround time of results from 6-8 weeks down to 2-3 days.
Southern California Food Allergy patients have a 99% treatment success rate, meaning patients who have graduated through the program will not have an anaphylaxis reaction if exposed to or unknowingly consume foods that have caused prior anaphylaxis reactions. Patients are now able to eat foods such as peanuts or seafood without worry, to enjoy a life free from the worries of allergies. The success of SCFAI’s program is data driven through proper diagnosis and careful treatment plans. To ensure the fidelity of that data, TPIRC Diagnostics was built as a specialized laboratory with a unique program to support that mission.
TPIRC Diagnostics is proud to announce it has achieved Accreditation by the College of American Pathologists (CAP), in addition to its CLIA/COLA certification. CAP Accreditation is the highest level of laboratory accreditation available to laboratories in the United States. Built on more than a half-century of experience, the CAP’s Laboratory Accreditation Program has been the champion of laboratory excellence. CAP is recognized as the global leader in improving the quality of services using established performance standards and now recognizes TPIRC Diagnostics as an accredited member.
